A Servants Heart
Today the pastor at the church I have been attending is going to speak on servanthood. I am looking forward to hearing the message the Lord has laid on his heart.
In my readings this week, it has been very clear that having a servants heart means that you are obedient even when what the Lord is asking you to do makes no sense to you at all at the time. God is the orchestrator of perfect timing and circumstance, no plan of His will be thwarted. He knows what He is doing we just have to trust that and walk in obedience. If we disregard a prompting of His you can bet your boots, he will find another servant who is ready with the right response to walk in His wisdom. As I read the account of Simon this morning it gave me what I call Holy goose bumps. The Lord says to Simon, " Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch." Deep water, I love that, simply because I know that the Lord calls us into that deep water often and He keeps us afloat. That is those who have their complete trust in Him. As we continue on, Simon answers the Lord, "Master, we have worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets." Did you hear it, Simon did not understand how this would be, but with a servants heart he obeyed the Lord's command. How delighted Simon must have been at the outcome. When you are obedient to His word you can not help but be delighted. There is always blessing and sweet delight that follows obedience.
Do you have a servants heart today? Are you walking in God's infinite wisdom and not your own?
