Daily Delight Devotions 1/16/10

Morning: Luke Chps 2-4 & Proverbs Chp 16

Evening: Genesis Chps 31-32 & Psalms Chp 16

Put this one into practice in your life and be blessed...
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed." Proverbs 16:3

There are scriptures here in the 16th chapter of Proverbs that draw me, I must admit that it is one of my favorite chapters in the book if there could be such a thing as a favorite in the word of God.  So much to grab a hold of and apply...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the book of Luke I noted 4:40, "When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying His hand on each one of them they were healed."
In a past post I talked about the element of touch being instrumental in medical CPR. A victim laying there or standing there choking can not be revived or helped without the element of touch. Notice that He layed his hands on each person, one at a time. He has all the power of heaven within his words, he could of just spoke a word and they all would have been healed at once, but do you see He took the time to touch each one. One heart at a time. If you need a touch from the Lord today, just ask Him. He may sovereignly respond or he may send a saint of His in the flesh to lay hands on you and pray with you. In whatever way He chooses, know that when you ask he will surely take the time to touch your heart. The Lord works out everything for His own ends-
On the flip side of this, if you are a Saint (a compassionate human being on the path of righteousness) of God, surely you are taking the time as Jesus did to reach out to those he has assigned to you, one heart at a time.... Take time, it is vital to revival.....
God Bless and touch each sweet heart that reads these words today... In My Sweet saviors name, Yeshua, I pray...
Sealed
...The virgins who were ready went in with Him and the door was shut.
Later the others also came, "Sir!, Sir!, they said," open the door for us." but he replied, " I tell you the truth, I do not know you. Mathew 25:10-12
It is clear here that five had oil and five did not. The word oil seemed to highlight on the page. The following ran through my thoughts; oil, annointing, Holy Spirit and then the word sealed. Sealed?? ,"what are you telling me Lord?" Anytime something random comes into your awareness like that when you are reading scripture, do not fluff it off, follow up and see what the relevance is. I knew to look the word up in the concordance to see what scriptures are linked to it.
"Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put His spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come." 2 Cor 1:21-22
"... having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised  Holy Spirit, who is a deposit quaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's posession-to the praise of His Glory." Ephesians 1:13-14
Without the oil the lamps are without light, an empty dark shell. Without His seal, His annointing, and His light, we are also an empty dark shell. If you are without that seal when he comes, He will not know you.
Believe and Be preapared...
Daily Delight Devotions 1/14
Morning: Mathew chp. 27-28 & Proverbs chp.14
Evening: Genesis chp. 27-27 & Psalms chp. 14
He who fears the Lord has a secure fortress; and for his children it will be a refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life. Proverbs 14:26-27
When I read this Proverb today, it made me think  of yesterdays reading in Genesis where the Lord says to Isaac, "I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you and will increase the number of your descendents for the sake of my servant Abraham." Gen 26:23-24
Do you see that your obedience & servantude to the Lord is a secure fortress not only for you but for your children and your childrens children etc?
A secure fortress and a fountain of life. That sounds pretty grand to me...
***Say hooray!  After we do our morning readings we will have completed the book of Mathew. These two chapters in Mathew are tuff, every time I read it, I have clear images of the movie, The Passion.
Bless you for going on this adventure with me.
I do hope you have the items listed above for the journey.  I do urge you to keep your journal filled with reflective thoughts, prayers, scriptures that stand out, etc. I believe you will be absolutely amazed at what you have compiled in a short amount of time.
Wow! So much to chew on today,  I love the verses from Mathew below because I strive to be that servant.
"Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master  has put in charge of the household to give them their food at the proper time? It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. I tell you the truth he will put him in charge of all of his possessions." Mathew 24:46-48
In the way of righteousness there is life; along that path is immortality. Proverbs 12:28
I recently was listening to a CD of Marie Chapians called The Six Purposes of God. In this CD she defines righteousness as conforming to the revealed will of God in every aspect of ones life. She also mentions that saints will judge the earth. The moment she began talking about saints, I questioned God, "Who is a saint?" I was distracted by my 7 year old jumping around so I shut off the CD, got up walked over to the pantry and pulled out an old box of tea. I took one of the bags out to dunk in my hot water, opened it up and there on the tab was writing, I reached for my glasses and read the following,
 "A compassionate human being on the path of righteousness is a saint."
I giggled and stood there in awe as I conveyed what had just transpired to my husband. His comment, "Wow, nothing like asking, then receiving an answer right away."
The Inner Circle
After six days Jesus took with Him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up to a high mountain by themselves. Mathew 17:1
There are so many things that I see in this scripture. I do hope others are making an attempt to do the daily devotional readings listed on the left side of the page, even if it is only the morning New Testament readings. This is the way to a Christ Powered Revival. You can not touch the hem of His garment if you are not walking close enough. Remember the women who had the issue of blood for twelve years. She believed that all she had to do was get close enough to touch even just the hem of His garment and she would be healed of that thing that had not only plagued her physically but had also caused her to be noted as unclean amongst the people. She could not touch anyone and no one was permitted to touch her. She did touch the hem of His garment and she was healed. Touch is vital. In medical CPR  there is no way to be revived or to rescue without the element of touch. Walk close to Him through the scriptures, you will be blessed.
The other part of this is that I pray you have an inner circle, a friend or two in the flesh that you can completely speak openly to regarding the things of God. Notice in the above scripture that Jesus took only three to that mountain top where they witnessed His transfiguration. They were privy to who Jesus was. He allowed His inner circle to witness something so grand and then He intructed them that they were not to tell anyone until after He had been raised from the dead. My point is, that we all need an inner circle, a small group of two or three who can lock hands (again the element of touch) and agree together on the grand things of God,  where two or three are gathered in His name there He is in the midst. There is no doubt in my mind that when I converse with my inner circle on the grand things of God, He takes us straight to that mountain top where we witness amazing things together.
"Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."
The desire of my heart for what you will find to be a delightfully divine journey is that Christ the Lord breath His reviving breath upon your spirit, and that you realize not only is He who He says He is, but also that you see and accept that you are who He says you are as well. The two go hand in hand. The deeper things of God will come to a heart that is set on Him and who is dedicated to the following two things: time in His word and time spent in holy conversation (prayer) with Him. I believe His word, so I know that if you are here reading this now, it shall be so for you.
